The CS 27, designed by Raymond Wall and built by CS Yachts in Canada from 1975 to 1983 with over 480 hulls produced, is a compact yet capable 27-foot performance cruiser featuring a 9.25-foot beam, 22.5-foot waterline, and a 5.17-foot fin keel (or optional 3.92-foot shoal) carrying 3,200 pounds of lead ballast in an 8,300-pound displacement for lively stability, a comfort ratio of 22–26, and a capsize screening value under 1.95. Its masthead sloop rig delivers 378 square feet of sail area for a spirited SA/D of ~16.5 and PHRF ratings around 192–210, blending quick coastal performance with surprising seaworthiness.
