CS 22 (Canadian Sailcraft 22)
Description
The CS 22 (also known as the CS/22 or Canadian Sailcraft 22) is a classic Canadian trailerable sailboat and pocket cruiser designed for easy handling, coastal sailing, and family use. It's known for its durability, stability, forgiving nature, and surprisingly good performance for its size — often described as a "tough little boat" with a reputation for holding up well over decades. Designed by British naval architect John A. Butler and built by CS Yachts (Canadian Sailcraft) in Ontario, Canada. Production ran from 1971 to 1976, with approximately 500 hulls built (a respectable number for a small cruiser of that era). It's a fiberglass monohull with a swing keel (retractable centerboard) for shallow draft and trailering ease.
