Corsair F-28 Trimaran (Also F-28r)
Description
The Corsair F-28 (also known as the Farrier F-28 or simply Corsair 28) is a high-performance, trailerable folding trimaran designed by Ian Farrier as the direct evolution of the legendary F-27. Produced by Corsair Marine from 1997 to 2004 (with ~150–200 units built), it addressed F-27 owners' requests for more interior space, stability, and sail-carrying power while retaining the patented Farrier Folding System™. Longer, wider, and lighter than its predecessor, the F-28 excels as a racer-cruiser hybrid—hitting 20+ knots while offering weekender comfort for 4–6 people. Often called the "sweet spot" in Farrier's lineup, it's forgiving for intermediates yet thrilling for experts, with PHRF ratings around 60–75. In 2025, these 20–25-year-old boats remain competitive in regattas and popular for coastal adventures, blending speed, simplicity, and seaworthiness.
