Coronado 23 - 2
Description
The Coronado 23 Mk II (also known as the Coronado 23-2) is an American trailerable cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Australian naval architect Alan Payne, introduced in 1974 as a successor to the original Coronado 23. Built by Coronado Yachts (a Whittaker Corp. division, which also owned Columbia Yachts) until 1976, approximately 189 units were produced. It's nearly identical to the Columbia T-23 (trailerable version), differing mainly in gelcoat colors and cabin window styling, and shares molds with later derivatives like the Charger 23 and Corsair 23. This Mk II emphasizes improved trailerability, seaworthiness, and family-friendly performance over the Mk I's Crealock design, with a reverse transom and higher-aspect sailplan for better speed.
