Corbin 39
Description
The Corbin 39 is a robust Canadian blue water cruising sailboat designed by Robert Dufour and Marius Corbin, first built in 1979 by Corbin Les Bateaux in Quebec. Inspired by Dufour's one-off custom boat Harmonie, it was engineered for long-distance ocean passages, emphasizing safety, comfort, and seaworthiness. With its double-ended hull, high freeboard, and flush deck, the Corbin 39 draws from classic Scandinavian offshore designs like the Westsail 32, making it a favorite for circumnavigators and liveaboard couples or families. Approximately 199 hulls were produced until 1990, many sold as owner-completion kits, leading to highly customized interiors and rigs. A 1982 factory fire destroyed some molds, prompting updates like larger cockpits and revised topsides in later Mk II models.
