Command 10 (Farrier C-10)
Description
The Command 10 (also known as Farrier Command 10 or C-10) is a high-performance folding trimaran designed by renowned multihull specialist Ian Farrier (of Farrier Marine) and introduced in the early 1980s (plans available since around 1983), with amateur plywood construction emphasized for home builders, though some professionally built examples exist. Production was primarily owner-built or small-scale (exact quantities unknown but limited compared to production monohulls), with boats still appearing on the used market today. It stands out for its patented Farrier folding amas (beams fold inward for trailering and marina berthing, reducing beam from ~27 ft / 8.2 m to trailerable width), exceptional speed and stability as an ocean-capable cruiser (designed for offshore passages with robustness beyond 20 knots), comfortable accommodations (sleeps 4–5 with enclosed head and galley), lightweight yet strong plywood/epoxy build, centerboard for shallow draft when raised, and fast, exciting sailing performance while remaining fully trailerable.
