COMET 12

COMET 12

Description

The Comar Comet 12 (also known as Comet 12) was designed by renowned Italian naval architect Andrea Vallicelli (of Azzurra America's Cup fame) and built by Comar Yachts in Italy starting in 1985. It became a major commercial success for the yard, with over 200 examples produced during its roughly decade-long production run through the mid-to-late 1980s and into the early 1990s, blending competitive IOR racing potential (rated around 30.5 feet) with practical family cruising features such as a spacious 3-cabin/2-head interior, simple and rational sail handling suitable for short-handed use, elegant hull lines with a wide, powerful stern, hand-laminated fiberglass construction, and strong performance from its masthead sloop rig and generous sail area.
