Columbia 29 Defender

Description

The Columbia 29 Defender, designed by the prestigious firm Sparkman & Stephens, was produced by Columbia Yachts in Costa Mesa, CA, from 1963 to 1969, with the Defender variant limited to the initial 1963–1964 raised-deck models (part of the overall Columbia 29 series' ~500 hulls built across all variants). This masthead sloop combines classic long-keel stability with enhanced headroom and light-filled interior for comfortable coastal cruising, sleeping 4–5 in a teak-trimmed layout— a robust, no-frills classic that's forgiving for beginners yet capable offshore with upgrades.
