CLC Lake Union Swift
Description
The Lake Union Swift is an 11-foot sloop-rigged sailing dinghy designed by John Harris of Chesapeake Light Craft (CLC) in collaboration with the Center for Wooden Boats (CWB) in Seattle. This vessel represents a unique educational initiative where high school students build the boats entirely by youth for youth, creating what Harris describes as a "pure sailing machine" optimized for sail training and youth programs. The project launched in 2022 with three boats now in service at CWB, constructed using stitch-and-glue plywood construction from specialized CLC ProKits.
