CL 14

CL 14

Description

The CL 14 is a versatile fiberglass day-sailing dinghy designed by Canadian naval architect Craig L. Smith and produced by CL Sailboats (formerly C&L Boatworks) since 1980, with hundreds built as a staple for yacht clubs, sailing schools, and cottagers seeking stable, trailerable fun for beginners or racers. Measuring 14 feet 2 inches LOA with a 5-foot-8-inch beam, 475-pound hull weight, and a centerboard draft of 7 inches (up) to 3 feet 6 inches (down), its double-chine planning hull ensures remarkable stability for up to four aboard in casual outings or responsive performance for two-crew racing, powered by a fractional sloop rig with 137 square feet of sail area—mainsail and jib standard, plus optional symmetric spinnaker and trapeze for planning thrills in 10-15 knots.
