Chrysler CY 27
Description
The Chrysler CY 27 (commonly known as the Chrysler 27) is a coastal cruising sailboat designed by Charles Morgan (with significant modifications from his earlier Morgan 27 of 1972) and built by Chrysler Marine (USA) starting in 1978; production was short-lived due to Chrysler's exit from the boat business around 1980, after which the molds/tooling were sold to Texas Marine International (TMI), where it became the TMI 27 or T-27 (with some overlap in late Chrysler/TMI builds). Exact production numbers are not well-documented but appear limited (likely in the low hundreds across both brands), as it's considered a rarer model in the Chrysler sailboat lineup. Special features include a relatively roomy interior for its size (thanks to a generous 10-foot beam and forward head layout), masthead sloop rig for balanced performance, fiberglass construction with positive flotation, and a design suited to coastal cruising or daysailing.
