Description
The Cheoy Lee Pedrick 55 (also listed as Pedrick 55 Cheoy Lee) is a high-performance bluewater cruising sailboat from the later Pedrick series built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Hong Kong around 1986 (very limited production, with only a handful of hulls, e.g., hull #1 noted in some listings). Designed by David Pedrick of Pedrick Yacht Designs, it's a modern (for the 1980s) fin-keel cruiser/racer blending offshore capability, good sailing performance, and spacious accommodations—suited for long-distance cruising, occasional racing, or even charter use (some examples have MARAD exemptions for up to 12 passengers uninspected). This model contrasts with the heavier, more traditional Cheoy Lee designs. Pedrick's influence brings fin keel efficiency, skeg rudder for protection/balance, and a performance-oriented hull while retaining Cheoy Lee's solid fiberglass build and teak-rich interior.
