Charger

Charger

Description

The Charger 23 is a compact, trailerable daysailer/cruiser from the early 1980s (primarily built around 1982–1983), produced by Charger, Inc. (USA), a company better known for powerboats, but which briefly ventured into sailboats using molds acquired from the defunct Columbia Yachts line. It's essentially a rebadged or very close variant of the Columbia T-23 (designed by Australian naval architect Alan Payne in the early 1970s), sharing the same basic hull, rig, and layout—often described as "very similar" or directly from those molds after Columbia's production ended. This lightweight fiberglass monohull was marketed as an affordable, easy-to-handle entry-level boat suitable for lake sailing, coastal day trips, or occasional overnights (sleeps 4 in a simple V-berth + settees interior), with a swing keel/centerboard for shallow draft and trailering convenience.
