CF 27 (Choate 27)

CF 27 (Choate 27)

Description

The CF-27 (also known as the Choate 27) is a classic lightweight racer/cruiser sailboat from the late 1970s, popular especially in Southern California where it was built and often called "CF" (standing for something like Choate-Feo or "California's Finest" in local racing circles, though the official name is Choate 27 in other regions like the Pacific Northwest or East Coast). It was designed by Scott Kaufman and built by Dencho Marine (Dennis Choate's yard in Long Beach, CA). Production ran from around 1976, with only about 36 units ever made, making it a fairly rare and sought-after vintage racer today. Enthusiasts maintain an active Facebook group for Choate CF 27 owners, with photos, tips, and discussions.
