Catalac Catamaran 27 (Catalac 8M)
Description
The Catalac 27 (also known as the Catalac 8M, where "8M" refers to approximately 8 meters LOA) is a classic British cruising catamaran from the early production multihull era. ~216 hulls built (most common Catalac model; 1970s–early 1980s run) It was built by Tom Lack Catamarans Ltd. (Christchurch, Dorset, England), founded by Tom Lack (hence "Cata-Lac"). The company specialized in solid, family-oriented cruising cats from the late 1960s through the early 1980s before ceasing operations. Designer: Primarily Tom Lack with input from John Winterbottom (hull designs featured hard-chine "V" sections for good windward ability and squall forgiveness).
