Cape Dory 40
Description
The Cape Dory 40 is a classic fiberglass sailboat designed by renowned naval architect Carl Alberg and built by Cape Dory Yachts in East Taunton, Massachusetts, from 1984 to 1990. Only 16 units were constructed, making it a highly sought-after and rare model in the Cape Dory fleet. It features a long keel for excellent stability and directional control, paired with a cutter rig for versatile heavy-weather sailing and easy handling. This bluewater cruiser emphasizes seaworthiness, with a spacious interior accommodating 6-7 in comfort: V-berth forward, enclosed head with shower, U-shaped galley, large saloon with convertible settees, navigation station, and a quarter berth aft. Standard power was a Perkins 4-108 diesel (50 hp).
