Cape Dory 30 Cutter
Description
The Cape Dory 30 (often specified as the 30C for the cutter version) is a classic fiberglass sailboat designed by Carl Alberg and built by Cape Dory Yachts in East Taunton, Massachusetts, from 1976 to 1986. A total of 363 units were produced, with the cutter rig becoming standard mid-production for improved efficiency over the earlier ketch option. It features a full keel for stability and tracking, making it a seaworthy coastal cruiser with traditional lines, modest overhangs, and a subtle sheer. The interior is cozy for 4 (V-berth forward, enclosed head with sink and shower, settees that convert to berths, U-shaped galley with icebox and two-burner stove), though it's somewhat cramped due to the narrow beam—late models added a quarter berth and nav station. Standard power was a Volvo MD7A diesel (13 hp).
