Cape Dory 25

Description

The Cape Dory 25, designed by George H. Stadel Jr. and built by Cape Dory Yachts from 1973 to 1982, is a 25-foot coastal cruising sailboat known for its classic design, seaworthiness, and compact yet functional layout. A popular choice for solo sailors, couples, or small families, it excels in coastal cruising, day sailing, and occasional offshore passages, blending traditional aesthetics with durable fiberglass construction. Introduced in 1973 as a step up from the Cape Dory 22, the 25 was one of Cape Dory’s most popular models, with 846 built until 1982. It was replaced by the Cape Dory 25D (diesel inboard model). The design reflects Stadel’s focus on seaworthy, traditional boats.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
