Description
The C&C Custom 41 (often referred to simply as the C&C 41 Custom or semi-custom variant of the C&C 41 series) is a high-performance Canadian racer-cruiser with a fin keel and spade rudder, masthead sloop rig, and IOR-influenced hull lines, designed by Cuthbertson & Cassian (George Cuthbertson and George Cassian, the core design duo behind C&C Yachts' golden era of fast fiberglass monohulls in the 1970s–early 1980s) for some builds, though the standard/production C&C 41 was by Robert Ball (after Jim Plaxton acquired C&C in 1981 and requested an IOR-optimized racer); built by C&C Yachts in Canada (with some semi-custom or "Custom" versions constructed by Bruckmann Manufacturing or in-house for special orders, including enhanced interiors, racing setups, or one-offs like those for Canada's Cup contenders); production for the overall C&C 41 line ran from 1981 to ~1985–1986 (evolving from earlier custom IOR boats, with the design serving as a "bread-and-butter" model in the early '80s alongside variants like GP and Limited Edition); quantity manufactured totals 127 for the C&C 41 family (including customs/semi-customs, per historical archives and owner reports—lower than more prolific C&C models but with a strong reputation for speed, handsome aesthetics, and offshore prowess, including Admiral's Cup participation and South Pacific cruises).
