C&C 29 MK I I
Description
The C&C 29 Mk II, designed by Robert Ball and built by C&C Yachts in Canada from 1983 to 1988 with approximately 350 hulls produced, is a high-performance 29-foot cruiser-racer featuring a 10.5-foot beam, 24.5-foot waterline, and a 5.58-foot fin keel (or optional 4.5-foot shoal) carrying 4,200 pounds of lead ballast in an 8,800-pound displacement for excellent stability, an SA/D of ~19.0, and PHRF ratings of 156–168. Its tall double-spreader masthead sloop rig with rod rigging delivers 480 square feet of sail area, enabling quick acceleration and planning ability downwind in 12+ knots, while the hand-laid fiberglass hull (solid below waterline, balsa-cored deck) and high-aspect spade rudder ensure responsive handling and proven offshore capability. The well-finished teak interior offers 6’1” headroom, sleeping 5–6 across a V-berth, aft quarter berth, and convertible saloon, plus a U-shaped galley, enclosed head with shower, and large nav station. Renowned for dominating 1980s PHRF and MORC fleets while remaining a fast, comfortable family cruiser, the C&C 29 Mk II remains a coveted modern classic
