C&C 29 Mk I
Description
The C&C 29 is a classic Canadian sailboat designed by Cuthbertson & Cassian (C&C Design) as an International Offshore Rule (IOR) Half Ton class racer-cruiser. Introduced in 1977, it was built by C&C Yachts primarily in Canada, with some production in the US at their Rhode Island plant. Over 600 units were produced until 1981, making it a popular choice for club racing and coastal cruising. It's known for its sleek lines, speed in light to moderate winds, and quality construction, but it has some limitations as a pure cruiser due to its racing heritage. Note that there is a later, unrelated model called the C&C 29-2 (or Mark II, built 1983–1986), which is smaller (28.5 ft LOA) and more tender; this summary focuses on the original 1977 model (often called Mark I).
