C&C 115
Description
The C&C 115 is a modern performance-oriented racer/cruiser sailboat from C&C Yachts (under the Novis Marine/Tartan ownership era), designed by Tim Jackett and first built in 2005. The "115" designation refers to its approximate length overall in decimeters (about 37'9" or 11.5 m). It was part of a revived C&C line emphasizing lightweight, high-tech construction for competitive club racing and fast coastal/offshore cruising—winning Sailing World's Overall Boat of the Year and Best Racer/Cruiser awards in 2006 for its excellent balance of speed, handling, and livability. Production ran from 2005 into the late 2000s/early 2010s (now out of production), with a focus on advanced composites: vacuum-bagged, impregnated, post-cured sandwich construction using unidirectional E-glass and Core-Cell foam coring for stiffness and weight savings. Every boat came standard with a carbon fiber rig (half the weight and stiffer than aluminum equivalents), reducing weight aloft for better stability and performance. It's a fractional sloop with a fixed fin keel, spade rudder (internally mounted), and a responsive, stiff hull—great for PHRF/IRC club racing, buoy racing, or quick passages, while still offering comfortable accommodations for weekend/overnight cruising.
