Caliber 38
Description
The Caliber 38 is a classic American bluewater cruising sloop designed by Michael McCreary. Built by Caliber Yachts in Clearwater, Florida, from 1987 to 1991, approximately 30 hulls were produced. It features a moderate-displacement fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and stability, solid hand-laid fiberglass construction (Divinycell-cored deck for lightweight strength), and a masthead sloop rig for balanced performance on coastal or offshore passages. Renowned for its seaworthiness, dry center cockpit, and exceptional build quality, it's ideal for couples or small families, with a stiff, forgiving ride in 15–25 knots.
