Caliber 33 Tall Mast

Caliber 33 Tall Mast

Description

The Caliber 33 Tall Mast (often abbreviated as Caliber 33 TM) is a classic American bluewater cruising sloop designed by Michael McCreary. Built by Caliber Yachts in Clearwater, Florida, from 1988 to 1994, approximately 50 hulls were produced overall (with the tall mast variant as a performance option for enhanced light-air capability via increased mast height and sail area over the standard rig). It features a moderate-displacement fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and tracking, solid hand-laid fiberglass construction (Divinycell-cored deck for strength without weight), and a masthead sloop rig optimized for coastal or short offshore passages. Celebrated for its seaworthiness, dry center cockpit, and balanced handling in 10–20 knots, it's ideal for couples or small crews.
