Cal T2-Tall

Description

The Cal T/2 Tall Rig (also known as the Cal T2 Tall) is a classic American IOR 1/2-ton racer designed by C. William Lapworth. Built by Jensen Marine (Cal Yachts) from 1972 to 1974, approximately 179 hulls were produced overall (with the tall rig as a performance-oriented subset for improved light-air upwind ability via a taller mast and larger sail plan). Featuring a lightweight fin keel with spade rudder for agile handling, solid hand-laid fiberglass construction, and a masthead sloop rig, it's renowned for its speed and responsiveness in club racing or coastal day sailing, with a lively ride in 10–20 knots and surprising stability for its era.
