Cal Cruising 46

Description

The Cal Cruising 46 (also known as the Cal 2-46) is a classic American bluewater cruising sloop (with ketch variants) designed by C. William Lapworth. Built by Jensen Marine/Cal Yachts from 1973 to 1977, approximately 129 hulls were produced. It features a moderate-displacement fin keel with spade rudder for responsive handling and tracking, solid hand-laid fiberglass construction (balsa-cored deck), and a masthead sloop rig suited to coastal racing, family cruising, or extended offshore passages. Renowned for its speed (hull speed ~8.5 kn), seaworthiness in 15–25 knots, and spacious accommodations, it's a proven performer with a balanced, dry ride and cruising range of ~1,200 nm under power.
