CAL 2-34

Description

The Cal 2-34 is a classic American racer-cruiser sailboat designed by C. William Lapworth. Built by Jensen Marine (Cal Yachts) from 1975 to 1976, approximately 198 hulls were produced. As a later variant of the original Cal 34, it shares the same hull form but introduces a higher aspect ratio rig for improved upwind performance and IOR ratings, additional structural reinforcements, optional wheel steering (over tiller), and expanded tankage for better cruising range. With a fin keel and spade rudder for responsive handling, plus hand-laid fiberglass construction (balsa-cored deck), it's well-suited to coastal racing, club events, or family weekends, offering a lively yet stable ride in 10–20 knots.
