Cal 2-24

Description

The Cal 2-24 is a rare, compact sailboat designed by C. William Lapworth and built by Jensen Marine (Cal Yachts) in the late 1960s to early 1970s. It is a distinct model from the earlier Cal 24, featuring a different hull design with a longer waterline, wider beam, and updated rig to improve performance and stability. Intended as a versatile daysailer and entry-level cruiser-racer, it targets beginners, small families, and club racers for lake, bay, and coastal sailing. Production numbers are low, estimated at fewer than 100 units, due to its short production run before Cal Yachts shifted focus to other models. Its lightweight fiberglass construction, shoal draft, and trailer ability make it ideal for shallow waters and easy transport, though it’s not suited for offshore or extended cruising
