Cabo Rico 45 / 47
Description
The Cabo Rico 45 and 47 (often grouped as 45/47) are highly regarded bluewater cruising sailboats from Cabo Rico Yachts, known for their exceptional build quality, luxurious teak interiors, and proven offshore performance. Designed by renowned naval architect William I.B. (Bill) Crealock, these are semi-custom, heavy-displacement cutters (with ketch options available) built primarily in fiberglass (GRP) for long-distance cruising safety and comfort. The 45 was introduced in 1995, with limited production (likely fewer than 10 hulls, last around 2007). The 47 is a stretched or enhanced variant (sometimes called 47 Pilot), introduced around 2006, sharing the same hull lines but with added length (often for extended cockpit, accommodations, or pilothouse protection in some builds). Both excel in heavy weather, with excellent stability, tracking, and motion comfort due to their full keel with cutaway forefoot.
