Bristol 35.5
Description
The Bristol 35.5 is one of the most iconic yachts produced by Bristol Yachts of Bristol, Rhode Island, designed by Ted Hood and introduced in 1977. It remained in production until the early 1990s, with an estimated 180–200 boats built, making it one of the company’s most popular models. The 35.5 evolved from the earlier Bristol 35, offering a more modern hull shape, updated interior, and improved sailing performance while preserving Bristol’s hallmark craftsmanship and classic lines. Built with a hand-laid solid fiberglass hull and balsa-cored deck, the boat was available in both centerboard and fin-keel configurations, providing a choice between offshore stability and shoal-draft versatility. The masthead sloop rig, quality deck hardware, and balanced layout made it a capable and easily managed cruising yacht. Inside, the 35.5 features finely crafted teak joinery, a roomy main salon, U-shaped galley, private forward cabin, enclosed head with shower, and sleeping accommodations for five, making it ideal for extended cruising by couples or small families.
