Bolger Nymph
Description
The Nymph is a diminutive, versatile 7'9" plywood sail-and-oar boat designed by Phil Bolger in the early 1980s as part of his "Instant Boats" series in collaboration with Harold "Dynamite" Payson. This ultra-portable sharpie-style dinghy embodies Bolger's ethos of radical simplicity: it's cheap to build, easy to row or sail, and stable enough for beginners or as a tender. At under 8 feet, it's the smallest in Bolger's lineup, perfect for learning boatbuilding or quick outings on small ponds, but capable in light coastal use. A variant called Rubén's Nymph widens it by 1 foot for extra stability.
