Bolger Fancy

Bolger Fancy

Description

Bolger’s Fancy is a small, simple, plywood daysailer and camp‑cruiser concept in the spirit of his “instant boats”: flat‑panel construction, minimal compound curves, and a very practical, workboat‑like appearance. Intended to be home‑buildable with modest tools and skills, Fancy emphasizes shallow draft, low cost, and ease of handling over traditional yacht elegance, providing a straightforward little sailing boat for poking around protected waters, gunkholing, and casual day sailing. As with many Bolger designs of this type, it typically uses an uncomplicated rig and centerboard or leeboards, so the boat can be beached easily and sailed or rowed in very skinny water.
