Bolero 25.5
Description
The Bolero 25.5 is a compact, performance-oriented fractional sloop designed by renowned British naval architect David Thomas and first introduced in 1979. Built primarily by UK yards like Seaglass Ltd., Robertson and Sons Ltd., and later Nick Stratton Yachts Ltd., it was conceived as a quarter-tonner racer but quickly gained popularity as a versatile club racer and coastal cruiser. With a lightweight fiberglass hull, fin keel, and spade rudder, the Bolero 25.5 balances speed and stability, making it ideal for short-handed sailing or family outings. Around 200 were produced, and it remains a favorite in UK sailing clubs for its responsive handling and low maintenance. Owners praise its lively performance in moderate winds, with a spacious interior for its size (sleeps 4-5) and trailerable design for easy transport.
