Description
The Beneteau Oceanis 461 is a classic aft-cockpit cruiser designed by Bruce Farr and built by Beneteau in France from 1996 to 2000. As a successor to the Oceanis 45, it emphasizes spacious accommodations and family cruising with a wide beam, bulb keel for stability, and a masthead sloop rig for easy handling. Approximately 300 units were produced, many as charter boats, making it a reliable choice for coastal passages or Caribbean hopping. Owners highlight its roomy interior and balanced performance, though it's critiqued for light construction in heavy offshore conditions—better suited for protected waters than extreme bluewater.
