Beneteau Oceanis 440
Description
The Beneteau Oceanis 440 is a spacious aft-cockpit cruiser designed by Bruce Farr and built by Beneteau in France from 1994 to 1998. As a successor to the Oceanis 400, it emphasizes family-friendly comfort and coastal-to-offshore capability with its wide beam, bulbous bow, and generous freeboard for a dry ride. Approximately 100 units were produced, appealing to liveaboard couples or small families with its three-cabin layout and bright interior. Variants include deep fin (6.25 ft draft), standard fin (5.58 ft), and wing keel (4.92 ft) for shallower waters. Owners praise its stability and ease of handling, though it's noted as moderately quick rather than a racer.
