Beneteau First 36s7
Description
The Beneteau First 32S5 is a French cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Jean Berret and Olivier Racoupeau (of Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design) in collaboration with Philippe Starck for the interior styling. Built by Beneteau in France from 1989 to 1993, approximately 280 hulls were produced, making it a popular model in the "S" series known for blending sporty performance with modern aesthetics. It's celebrated for its wide beam providing exceptional stability and interior volume for its size, a fractional sloop rig for responsive handling, and a bulbous bow for efficient upwind sailing—ideal for coastal racing, club events, or family cruising (4–6 people). Variants include a deep fin lead keel (standard) or a shallower wing keel for better access in thinner waters. While not a dedicated blue water boat, it's capable for short offshore passages with preparation, earning praise for its lively feel in 10–20 knot winds (PHRF ~120–140). Hull Length (m): 9.68 Waterline Length (m): 8.49 Maximum Beam (m): 3.30 Draft (m): 1.35 or 1.80
