Description
The Beneteau First 35S7 (also marketed as the First 35.7) is a performance cruiser-racer masthead sloop designed by Jacques Berret (Berret-Racoupeau) and built by Beneteau in France from 1993 to 1995. As a refined evolution of the First 36S7 with a slightly shorter waterline, it blends IOR-inspired speed with practical cruising features, emphasizing agility in moderate winds and comfort for family weekends. Relatively rare with limited production (exact numbers unknown but under 100 hulls), it's prized for its balanced handling and solid fiberglass construction, making it a favorite in PHRF fleets or as a coastal pocket cruiser. Variants include a shallow-draft wing keel (5.0 ft) for shallower waters, standard iron torpedo keel (6.06 ft), and a deep lead keel (6.23 ft) for racing. Owners describe it as a "dual-purpose gem" that's exciting to sail yet forgiving.
