Beneteau Evasion 36

Description

The Beneteau Evasion 36 is a French pilothouse motorsailer designed by Philippe Briand and built by Beneteau from 1990 to around 1996, with approximately 50–100 hulls produced. As a revival of Beneteau's earlier Evasion series from the 1970s, it combines sailing capability with strong motoring performance and all-weather protection via its raised saloon and wheelhouse, making it ideal for coastal cruising, liveaboard use, or extending the sailing season in cooler climates. The design features a full hull with a shallow-draught wing keel for stability and shallow-water access, a manageable sloop rig (often with roller-furling main and genoa), and a layout prioritizing comfort over speed—suitable for short-handed or family crews (4–6 people).
