Beneteau Oceanis 473

Description

The Beneteau Oceanis 473 is a popular aft-cockpit cruiser designed by Groupe Finot and built by Beneteau in France (and briefly in South Carolina, USA) from 2000 to 2005. As an evolution of the Oceanis 461, it combines performance-oriented hull lines with luxurious liveaboard features, making it a favorite for coastal cruising, charter use, and occasional bluewater passages. With around 200–300 units produced, it's valued for its spacious layout (sleeps 6–8), bright interior, and balanced sailing—owners describe it as "a great all-rounder" with easy short-handed handling. Variants include a deep keel (6.92 ft draft) for better upwind performance and a shoal-draft option (around 5 ft) for shallower waters; the 2-cabin owner's version is most common, with a 3-cabin charter layout available.
