Beneteau 29

Description

The Beneteau First 29 is a classic fractional sloop designed by Jean Berret and built by Beneteau in France from 1976 to 1980. As an early icon in Beneteau's performance-oriented First line, it was designed for IOR 3/4-ton racing while doubling as a capable coastal cruiser, emphasizing speed, stability, and simplicity in a lightweight fiberglass hull. Approximately 100–150 units were produced, many still racing in vintage fleets or serving as affordable family day sailors. Variants include a shoal-draft keel (4.92 ft) for shallower waters and basic vs. equipped interiors.
