The Beneteau First 27 (also known as the First 27 SE or Seascape 27) is a modern high-performance fractional sloop designed by the J&J Design team (in collaboration with Seascape Yachts) and built by Beneteau in Slovenia and France from 2021 onward. As a pocket sportsboat in Beneteau's First line, it combines dinghy-like agility with cruiser comforts, emphasizing planing speeds, stability, and ease for solo, double-handed, or family sailing. It's optimized for coastal racing, day sails, or short passages, with a lightweight carbon-reinforced hull and a swing keel for trailerability. Over 100 units have been produced, fostering active one-design fleets in Europe and the U.S. Owners rave about its "addictive fun" and seaworthiness (42% ballast ratio for strong righting moment), though it's not plush belowdecks—ideal for performance enthusiasts seeking a versatile 27-footer under 4,000 lbs dry.
