Bavaria Cruiser 40
Description
The Bavaria Cruiser 40 is a 40.5-foot fractional sloop designed by renowned naval architect Bruce Farr and built by Bavaria Yachts in Germany starting in 2011. This model represents a significant evolution in Bavaria's 12-meter lineup, introducing Farr's "Vision" series design philosophy that elevated interior brightness and deck styling to levels previously seen only on high-end yachts. The hull construction utilizes hand-laid fiberglass with chopped-strand mat and biaxial fabric set in isophthalic polyester resin, featuring Coremat coring below the waterline and Airex foam above, reinforced with a top-hat style internal grid. The deck is also Airex-cored and bonded to the hull on a generous internal flange, while the ballast keel is iron. The boat features a fin keel with bulb and spade rudder configuration, offering excellent sailing performance with modern cruising comfort. A performance-oriented variant, the Cruiser 40S, is also available with deeper keel options, performance rigging, and regatta fittings for more competitive sailing applications.
