Baltic 39
Description
The Baltic 39 is a highly successful performance-oriented racer-cruiser designed by C&C Design (primarily Rob Ball of the C&C team), built by Baltic Yachts in Finland, and first introduced in 1977 (with hulls launched from around 1978 onward). Production continued until 1983, resulting in a total of 74 hulls built—one of Baltic Yachts' most prolific semi-production models from that era and a standout commercial success for the yard. Outstanding characteristics include its medium-displacement yet lightweight fiberglass construction with balsa core for excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, masthead sloop rig for powerful, balanced, and versatile performance (strong upwind with good all-around speed), comfortable and well-appointed interior with generous accommodations and headroom suitable for family cruising or offshore passages, superb Finnish build quality featuring elegant teak interiors and meticulous craftsmanship typical of Baltic, and a lasting reputation for seaworthiness, responsiveness, and enduring appeal—often praised as a timeless "sweet spot" yacht that excels in club racing, coastal adventures, or longer voyages while remaining highly desirable in the used market today.
