Baltic 37
Description
The Baltic 37 is a classic performance-oriented racer-cruiser designed by C&C Design (primarily Robert W. Ball of the C&C team, with contributions from Steve Killing), built by Baltic Yachts in Finland, and first introduced in 1978. Production continued until 1983, with a total of 51 hulls built, making it a sought-after and relatively limited-production model from one of the world's top semi-custom yards. Outstanding characteristics include its lightweight yet strong fiberglass construction with balsa core for stiffness and reduced weight, masthead sloop rig for efficient and balanced sailing, excellent upwind performance and speed (optimized for IOR rules of the era while remaining versatile for cruising), comfortable and well-laid-out interior with good headroom and accommodations for family or offshore use, high build quality with elegant teak trim and thoughtful details typical of Baltic Yachts, and a reputation for seaworthiness, responsiveness, and enduring appeal in the used market—often described as a "sweet spot" size for spirited sailing without excessive complexity.
