Bahama 28 By Islander

Description

The Islander Bahama 28 is a variant of the Islander 28, a popular cruiser-racer designed by Robert H. Perry and built by Islander Yachts (later Tradewind Yachts) from 1981 to 1985. With only about 25–30 hulls produced (out of ~430 total Islander 28s), the Bahama 28 features minor cosmetic and deck tweaks—such as a raised coach roof for more headroom and a redesigned companionway—while retaining the same hull, fin keel (standard or shoal), spade rudder, and masthead sloop rig as the standard model. Optimized for coastal cruising, club racing (PHRF ~180–200), and weekend overnights for 4–5, it offers a stiff ride (43% ballast ratio), lively handling, and a spacious teak interior for its size.
