Atkin Victoria (Victoria Cruising Cutter)

Atkin Victoria (Victoria Cruising Cutter)

Description

The Atkin Victoria (c. 1951) is a 32‑foot wooden double‑ended cruising cutter designed by William Atkin for small‑crew voyaging and heavy‑weather comfort. With a full keel, moderate beam, and cutter rig of about 550 sq ft sail area (I ≈ 38 ft, J ≈ 13 ft, P ≈ 33 ft, E ≈ 13 ft), the Victoria embodies the Atkins’ philosophy of “practical yachts for real sailors” — strong, predictable, and beautiful in traditional form. Many have been home‑built or restored, and a few remain admired offshore voyagers today.
