American Fiberlite 16 “Knockabout”
Description
A 16‑foot fiberglass centerboard sloop, marketed as a “family knockabout” — a stable, easily handled daysailer ideal for lakes and protected bays. It followed the design philosophy of mid‑century knockabouts: big cockpit, good load‑carrying ability, and simple rigging rather than racing performance.
