Alpa 27
Description
The Alpa 27 (also known as the Alpa A27) is a classic Italian fiberglass sailboat from the mid-1970s, built by Alpa Yachts (ITA) starting around 1975. Alpa was one of Europe's early fiberglass pioneers (founded 1956), and this model was designed by the legendary American firm Sparkman & Stephens (known for yachts like the NY 32 and many America's Cup contenders). It's a compact performance cruiser/racer with clean, timeless lines—responsive, well-mannered, and suitable for coastal cruising, club racing, or weekend getaways with decent accommodations for its size. It's praised for excellent seakeeping, spacious feel below (for 4 berths), and balanced handling thanks to the fin keel and transom-hung rudder. Not a heavy bluewater tank like some in your earlier queries (e.g., Alajuela 33 or Kristen 52), but a lively, fun daysailer/weekender with good upwind ability and moderate draft.
