Allied Greenwich 24

Description

The Allied Greenwich 24 (often just called the Greenwich 24) is a classic American trailerable sailboat designed by George H. Stadel Jr. and built by the Allied Boat Company in Catskill, New York, from 1968 to 1972. It was Allied's smallest model and not a huge commercial success (fewer than 200 built, exact numbers unclear), but the hull molds were sold in 1972 to Cape Dory, where—with a new deck and cabin top—it became the hugely popular Cape Dory 25 (over 800 produced). It's a full-keel pocket cruiser with elegant CCA-era lines: long overhangs, low freeboard, graceful sheer, and a sleek profile that turns heads. Built solidly with hand-laid fiberglass and wood trim (Allied's hallmark overbuilt quality), it's known for seaworthiness beyond its size—stable, stiff, with gentle motion and good performance for coastal cruising, day sailing, or weekend gunkholing.
