Albin 57

Description

The Albin 57 is a compact Swedish trailerable sailboat designed for coastal cruising and day sailing, with a nod to racing heritage. Penned by naval architect Rolf Magnusson, it was produced by Albin Marine in Kristinehamn, Sweden, from 1977 to 1981, with around 400 units built. This fractional-rigged sloop features a swing keel for versatility in shallow waters, making it ideal for inland lakes, rivers, or sheltered coastal areas. Its lightweight construction and responsive handling earned it popularity in Scandinavian club racing, where it supported organized events via the now-defunct Albin 57 Owners Association. Owners value its ease of trailering (under 2,000 lbs. displacement), simple maintenance, and stable platform for beginners or families.
